Selection Process

After Applying, Then What? When an application for the Prevention Fellowship Program is submitted, an electronic checklist validates that all required information is included. Designated staff review the information and your application is given a unique identifier. If you are accepted into the program, this identifier will also be used to track and report your payments, expenses, progress, and issues throughout the two-year Fellowship. If you do not pass the initial screening, you will be notified that your application is no longer under consideration.

All paperwork from applicants who pass the first screening is sent to a selection committee composed of representatives from the state agencies, CSAP, and either NASADAD or NPN. After identifying the top candidates, the selection committee will send the applications to the designated agency mentor representative, who will review the application and schedule an interview with the assigned candidate.

After Fellows are interviewed, the committee submits the slate of names to CSAP for final approval. Once CSAP approval is received, all candidates are notified of their status.

If you are accepted into the Prevention Fellowship Program, your assigned agency mentor will contact you immediately.

Deadline for Completed Applications: September 21, 2009, 5:00 PM (EST).
